With a family history in the moving industry, Mr. Richardson chose to carry on his father’s legacy through Hands On Moving and Storage. From its inception in 2014, he envisioned leading a company that embodied who he was as a strong professional - timely, accountable, and transparent. His entrepreneurial success can be attributed to his extensive leadership experience within retail, health care and transportation services.

This year, Hands On Moving and Storage will proudly celebrate 9 years of business - specializing in Residential, Commercial, Long Distance moves while also offering local storage options. The company has serviced over 10,000+ customers; employed over 100 employees; increased its operations to a 8 truck operation; and consistently maintains a 4.7 or higher per online customer review ratings.

In addition to Xzavier’s professional accomplishments, he finds time to support two local youth basketball teams; serves on numerous local committees and governance boards; supports charitable events, including contributing to his alma mater’s athletic department. He also advocates for education, sponsors local clubs and activities, and has been critical to several community projects, including the progression of the New Haven, CT, 29th Colored Regiment Juneteenth Committee.

Most recently, he served as President for a local business networking group called, Elm City BNI (Business Network International) - the world’s largest business networking and business referral organization. Furthermore, he is proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where he currently serves as the Treasurer for the Delta Iota Sigma Chapter here in New Haven, CT. In addition, he actively serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a New Haven nonprofit called the Elephant In The Room Boxing Club.

Most importantly, Xzavier is a devoted husband to his wife, Johnna Richardson, and a proud father of three sons.

He strives to be an ideal role model for our youth, a humble servant to his community, and a man of great poise & commitment. Whether moving a family into their new home or leading the next generation to higher plateaus, Mr. Xzavier Richardson embodies the words once spoken by African American Author, Loretta Scott King - “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”
